Why can't I log in to Google or remove a Google account on Galaxy S7?

Recently, on my Galaxy S7, I've been unable to log in to my google accounts, and after the login failure, I got an account action required notification. I can log in on my computer without problems. It has me reenter my password, and after i do so, it returns me to the screen asking me to reenter my password. I've tried removing the account, but after hitting remove, it just returns me to the screen with the options sync account and remove account. I am running 8.0.0 Oreo.

Choose sync account and see if that clears it up.

When I choose sync account it gives me a list of what I can sync (Docs, Contacts, Gmail, etc.)
