Why can't I log into Snapchat without a verification code?

So I had a phone and I logged into Snapchat without a problem, unless I would get into a different phone or device and it would ask me for the verification code and I had my phone next to me so I put it in. But now I do not have a phone and when I try to log in onto another devices it always ask for my verification code and it send it straight to my phone. Now that I don't have a phone, why can't they just send it to my email since I did verify my email also, just as my phone number. So how can I log into my Snapchat without my verification code being sent to my phone number, can't it be sent to my email that I verified???

2FA should be reqd everywhere.

Your account is tied to ph# and also email address.

There really should be a 2nd email address that had been verified, an option to use when phone is not available.

I had to create a new account to be able to use Snapchat. No longer use it.

They had a bit if security issue - who doesn't.

Prepaid SIM cards even for backup are handy, as is a backup phone. Dual sim phones for those that need home personal and one for work, or for travel.
