Why can't I manually sync Google Calendar & other accounts?

They all seem to sync at some regular intervals (now sure what they are; I'm sure there is a setting somewhere for these, but I can't seem to recall where there are), but I can't seem to get them to manually sync. I go into Settings > Accounts and have tapped 'Sync All' as well as gone into individual accounts and tapped 'Sync now' but nothing. I have even gone into the stock calendar and tapped 'Refresh' and it does nothing.

Can someone help me out here?

Let me clarify...in general, I have not really had any issues with my Evo syncing to Google (Calendar, GMail, etc.) either automatically or manually...until the last week or so. It DOES seem to be syncing automatically at some regular intervals (which is good; however, I seem unable to remember or find where you can set the interval and I would like to check and maybe change it). HOWEVER, when I attempt a manual sync EITHER under Settings > Accounts OR a manual refresh from within the built-in Calendar app, it DOES NOT seem to want to sync.

Because I am doing some experimenting, I am wanting to sync my calendar more frequently, thus the need for manual syncing to work, which seems NOT to be working for some reason. Make sense?

Still having this problem. Just for clarification, here's a description of what's happening right now:

1. Open up Settings > Accounts > Google. Listed is Sync Contatcs, Sync Gmail, Sync Calendar. All of these were last auto synced at 9:52 a.m. today (again, I'd really like to know where to change this; I definitely want to sync way more frequently than that.)
2. I press the 'Sync now' button at the bottom left. NOTHING happens. I tap it again. Nothing. And again. Nothing. And...well, you get the idea.

What the heck? I have even tried manually syncing from within the built-in calendar and it still does nothing. If I can't keep my calendar more up to date than this, it's useless to me. I can't recall having this problems until recently, but don't know exactly when the problem started.

What you may have to do is uninstall the mail account and reinstall it with all the settings you want......if that doesnt work...beats me

Update:

I just noticed today that all of my Google, Facebook, Stocks, Twitter and Weather all still show the most recent sync to be Jan 17, 9:52 a.m. (which is the same as I last posted on Jan 19--when I posted that I was thinking it was Jan 17, the same day as the last sync; I see now the sync was two days old even then).

Strange thing is I HAVE read current email and Facebook posts in the last 24 hours.

Still, the bottom line is NO ACCOUNT seems to be syncing, either manually or automatically. And I can confirm that my calendar is NOT syncing.

Desperate for help...
