Why can't I Receive messages

I can't received text messages from other android Galaxy phones. I have a Samsung Galaxy S8 plus

Welcome to Android Central! Can you receive any text messages at all? Are you using the stock Messaging app, or some other app? Have you asked your carrier about this?
