Why can't i see pictures thumbnails in Apps?

Hello, i have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro and today i realised that older pictures thumbnails dont appear before i can send them in Apps such as Kik and Instagram, they just appear as grey squares instead of the Actual pictures

it happened to me too.for instagram.just empty boxes...i suspect SDMaid...

Yes i can Open the pictures in the Gallery and the phone doesn't have a Nanomcard yet, also i can send the picture if i tap it without being able to see the thumbnail.

I don't have a Card in the phone though.

Internal storage, phone doesnt have a Nanomcard yet

You didn't delete the /.thumbnails directory to recover some internal storage space at any point, did you?

Erm, i did... How can i get it back? xD

I would have thought the system would re-create that directory. You could try creating it yourself using a file manager. The directory should be /DCIM/.thumbnails (make sure you type a period in front of the word "thumbnails").

Erm i just checked and the folder is there again. And works fine now in Instagram... Thanks for the help xD
