Why can't I send or receive texts after a recent update?

I cannot send or receive texts after a recent update.

I have a Samsung S4 Active. Everything worked fine until the last update. Anyone know how to fix the problem?

I don't believe anyone has these phones anymore. I posted two threads and had quite a few views, but no one would reply with any kind of advice. Sorry, I don't know what to tell you on that one. What and when was the update?
