Why cant I transfer photos from my samsung galaxy s6 phone to my windows vista computer?

I connect the USB cable to the computer and my phone but the only thing that happens is the phone starts to charge. Doesnt give me any USB opitons on the notification tray and doesnt show up on my computer on any drive. Please help

Check on your phone to make sure that you have the USB mode set to media. It is also possible that the cable you are using cannot be used to transfer files, if this is the case, you will need to use a different cable.
