Why can't I update Facebook on my android phone

Everytime I try to update it the update just stops and won't do it at all

Welcome to Android Central! Does this happen on both wi-fi and mobile data?

Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Google Play Store, and Clear Cache/Clear Data, then Force Stop. Do the same for Download Manager. Now try again.

Try updating from this website. Make sure you give the phone permission to install from unknown sources.
