Why can't i use my streaming apps?

None of the streaming apps work since earlier today (youtube, play music, amazon music, etc). Streaming works fine in the browser. I've tried everything, even factory resetting... nothing worked. Any ideas?

Which phone?
Which version of android?
Which carrier?

Does mobile data vs wifi matter?
If you are getting any error messages, what is the exact wording of them?
