Why can't my alcatel one touch pop star camera can't connect to take pictures

Please l am finding it difficult to take pictures or video with my alcatel onetouch pop star.When l clicked on the camera icon for pictures, this message pop up (can't connect to the camera . please make sure to close other apps that may use camera or flashlight).Meanwhile l dont have any apps that use camera or flashlight installed.Please kindly help me in any way to connect my camera for pictures and videos

Welcome to Android Central! Does it work in Safe Mode? How to turn on safe mode on Alcatel Pop Star. If so, then something you installed is causing the problem. Go to Settings>Apps>Permissions, and see which apps have Camera permissions. Try uninstalling those apps one by one until the problem goes away.
