Why can't my phone use only fingerprint unlock

My phone doesn't unlock with fingerprint only

Welcome to Android Central! All Android devices will periodically require your backup PIN/password if you're using fingerprint. It's for better security, since fingerprint actually isn't as secure.

Think what would happen if for any reason you were unable to use your fingerprint. You'd have no way of using your phone.
