Why can't my S7 remember email attachments default opening?

Why can't S7 remember email attachment default opening

when i get an email and click to open attachment I keep getting a window with 4or5 choices instead like on my note 4 I can choose 1 and hit remember my choice and I just click on box and the email opens just looking for less steps Verizon Google & Samsung were no help any ideas please

Welcome to Android Central! After you select a default choice, do you ever go to the Settings and reset the default? Sometimes after selecting a default app, an informational popup will tell you how to clear the default--but some people assume that they're supposed to do that right away, which essentially clears the default they just picked. So the next time they try to execute the action, they have to pick a default again.
