Why can't people hear me with the headphones in?

People cant hear me with headphones in

On my lg g3 When I call people with my head phones in the other person can't hear me until I take them out.it worked on my previous lg phone and they're both running kit kat.my headphones work fine and they'res no mic on it.does my phone think there is?

Welcome to Android Central!

The phone could think there is supposed to be a mic in the equation. Or your LG could have some kind of noise cancellation feature preventing them from hearing you. Try making the call, leave the headphones in but hold the phone to your face like you normally would on a call and see if they can hear you.
