Why did you choose the Edge over the S6 model?

Ok, I went into the store yesterday ready to pre-order the S6. I fell all over myself after seeing and holding the Edge.
Side by side it's just a better looking phone.
Pictures a video are almost 3D. It held good in my hands. I like the video of it being dropped in water and doing ok. I like that the woman slammed it down and it survived.
But after coming home and researching, it seems that NO reviewer that I've seen actually likes this curved edge thingy. I'm sure they're out there, but I can't find one. They say it's a useless use of space. That Samsung didn't manage the edges like they did in the Note. They testify that it's frustrating to text on after awhile. They also say that words kind of wrap around the edges making it sometimes hard to read.
But they all agree that it's amazing sexy to look at.
I'm still on the fence.
So, I'm asking the current owners that are using it.
Why did you choose it over the regular ole plain-Jane S6? And are you glad that you did? Or are you going back to the S6?
Thanks.

I chose it just because I thought it looked better, I tend to jump to the newest phones quickly and I thought I'd regret not getting the edge more than I would getting it. Also, though the additional features are minimal, I believe I'll use them often. Still haven't received it, so I'm not sure if I will regret it.

I wanted something different for a change, especially after HTC disappointed with the M9 basically being a near copy of the M8 that I already wasn't totally enamored with.

Then I saw the first shots of the Edge. Game Over.

Saw it in person and played with it as soon as it hit stores...and the thought never even crossed my mind to get the regular S6. The Edge just looks and feels too cool!

This summarizes it best: http://www.zdnet.com/article/samsungs-galaxy-s6-edge-dont-overthink-it/

I think reviewers are obligated to justify their opinions, and "spend $100 extra because it looks cool" probably does not fit that ethos. The most enthusiastic review of the Edge is from cnet: http://www.cnet.com/products/samsung-galaxy-s6-edge/ , and she is even more enthusiastic in the video than in the write up. I am planning on putting the Edge in a case, so the grip should be fine. I really don't think the other issues (image distortions, light reflections, occasional awkwardness with screen taps) sound serious enough from any of the reviews or the first impressions to make me rethink the decision.

Honestly i've read reviews saying it's worthless.. but i've used the EDGE Screen Text notification from my wife (one of my 5) every single time she texts me. I like it.

I was on the fence about the S6 Edge, I wanted it once I saw it but felt it was not exactly what I had expected. Since I have zero patience when it comes to waiting and I wanted a new phone now and I wanted 128GB of storage I got the S6 Edge. I don't feel it was a bad move but I am not sure about the curved edges. So it was more of an availability issue that pushed me. Still I feel confident I will be happy.

How's the reading on it? I 've read where some say it's hard to read on with light coming through the nice rounded edges.
Also, any problems holding onto it? lol. I've also read where some say it's hard to grip after awhile.
Thanks.

When I tried out the Note Edge without a case I felt it was awkward to hold, put a case on it and it was easy to hold.

I ordered mine because it's a hell of a talking point! Also, the small quirky features. :)

It just looks so nice. I just hope that the rumours of sacrificing the functionality for the style aren't massive issues for me. If they are, it's not such a big issue to send it back and go for the s6.

I got the Edge for my self and its only because it looks so good and i don't mind spending a bit more for a better looking phone

Night clock is cool and I'll use it, but the reason I got it was because of the looks and feel.

I was going to wait for the s6 edge but went with the note edge. Viewing or watching in landscape on the s6 edge seems to catch alot of distracting reflections and light.
Also with the note edge the toolbar or main apps that are usually at the bottom of the screen are always on the edge giving you more screen. Which the s6 edge does'nt do apparently. Bit more functionality on the note edge for me i reckon though.
As mentioned above the night clock is a cool feature. My note edge has it too.

Either because I am totally wanting to be All in for the new S6 edge. Or it really felt that different in my hand and I couldn't justify the regular S6 from the S5 or S4 by touch or look.

But, yes, it looks and feels amazing. So charge me an extra $100. I will spend more than that on stupid things over the next two years.

To jump on this wave, I totally agree with the above and I can't help but to believe there will be plenty more add-ons, options and apps made to take advantage of the edge design.

My reasons for going with the Edge:
-Looks gorgeous
-It's truly beautiful
-Very aesthetically pleasing
Oh and on top of those, I just think it looks better ;)

I have been doing more research on the Note Edge and am excited about going to play with one today. Just hoping the jump in size isn't too much.
