Why do a factory resry?

Been reading here that people do this every 6 mos. I would do it but don't want to lose all of my settings. I am using Nova launcher. How do I get settings back to normal?

Google will back up app settings and Nova will back up your homescreens, if you tell them to. Then setting your phone back up isn't nearly as bad.

Only do factory reset when you need it!
