"Application cannot be installed in the default install location" is the error I receive, more details below

Prerequisites-

-This error message ONLY applies to apps made by Google (ex. Maps, Drive, etc) all my other apps update just fine.

-I am on rooted Galaxy S4

-I've researched this topic already, but couldn't find any solutions. The closest I got was the suggestion to, under settings>storage>preferred install location, untick "SD" and change to "let device decide," but the s4 doesn't have any preferred install location settings. Additionally, I tried to unmount the SD card and try updating apps, but as soon as my SD card is unmounted, my phone reboots itself. I can't start the phone without my SD card for some reason.

I've tried clearing caches here and there, and I definitely have enough space, I've even deleted some other apps. And yes, I have rebooted, many times.

Help is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Welcome to Android Central!

Go through all your apps and see what apps are moved to the SD card and move them back.
