Device Storage - GS4

My Galaxy S4 has recently stopped loading emails (I have 3 accounts on my phone). I get a message that says, "Not enough space in device storage. Delete some files and try again."

How do I find files to delete? I dumped all my old mail from each account, and that hasn't helped.

In "storage," it says:

Applications: 3.96GB
Pictures,videos: 2.29GB
Audio: 188kb
Downloads: 1.17GB
Cached data: 80.51MB
Miscellaneous files: 7.76GB
Available space: 437MB

The SD card says
total space = 29.80GB
available space = 28.47GB

I've moved every app I can to the SD card.

It seems only the email accounts are having this issue.

Help!

Re: Device Storage - GS4

I would recommend backing up the photos and videos, since that is the largest block of data that you have control over, and deleting all of them. That will get you enough space to have your email apps work again.

Move the Audio, Pictures and Video files to the SD Card! Do a search in this forum for "SD Card" and you will find a lot of information about memory management.

Re: Device Storage - GS4

Has anyone else found any solutions to this problem? I'm having an identical issue that only started after the most recent Android system update.

Every 12 hours or so, I get the exact same message in my Email app: "Not enough space in device storage. Delete some files and try again." I'll delete some files or uninstall a program, the message will go away for about 12 hours, and then it'll come back. Since it's a continual process that has yet to ever get fully resolved it seems more like an app or system error than an actual memory problem, especially since my phone currently says I have 478 MB of available space. How is that not enough to download my email?! I've even reduced the amount of email I keep stored on my phone from a month's worth to 2 weeks worth. That should theoretically solve the issue right there but it has done nothing.

I've heard through the grapevine that Google wants people to stop using the Email app and start using the Gmail app. I feel like this whole issue is a scam created by Android to force people to stop using the Email app.

Thoughts? Solutions? Help! This issue has turned my phone into a worthless piece of crap.

I guess one solution might be to find a new email app (besides Gmail). Maybe a suggestion on that would help. I'm really looking for anything.
