Why do I get double email notifications on the top?

On the little notification bar at the top of my screen I get 2 notifications every time I get new mail to one of my Gmail accounts. I get the Gmail icon and then I get the "generic" email icon, each opens up a differenct app to view the same message. How do I eliminate one of these? Thanks-Dan

This is because your email is probably set up both in gmail and in the HTC email client. Pick the one you want to eliminate, go into the settings for it and remove the account. Or tell it not to sync. Right now both email clients are fetching your email, and telling you (rightly) that you have mail)

Thanks, I went into the "apps" in Settings and disabled the Gmail app. All good now hopefully.
