Android Central Question

Sometimes at night, when I'm sleeping, I wake up to the sound of a notification ding coming from under my bed. I get up and turn on all my lights so that I can look under my bed and behind it. There is never a phone there, and my phone gets charged on the other side of my house with the rest of my electronics. I have no idea why I hear these dings, SOMEBODY PLEASE EXPLAIN!!!

Welcome to Android Central! Do you actually hear the notification when you're fully awake? If not, then I'd wonder if what you thought you were hearing was clouded by the fog of half-sleep.

Clearly you are hearing things, there's no other explanation. You are hearing things from under the bed and there's no phone there so it can't be anything else.

Is there an air conditioning duct under your bed or near "under it"? Could the sound be traveling through the ductwork? (Have someone in the room your phone is in at night, and listen under your bed. Have him talk. If you don't hear anything, you're dreaming of dings. If you hear him, it's the air conditioning. (Why is your phone still turned on if it's on the other side of the house, where that does you no good? Turn it off before charging it.)

This happened to me too. I couldnt figure it out but it is probably from a TV og a video ur watching. And that where there might be comming Sound effects on

There was a very real thing , that started in the 90's, where people reported phantom vibrations from their phone when they weren't carrying it. It even had a name, Phantom Vibration Syndrome. They later went on to include phantom ringing and this sounds like the updated version of that. I have to admit I feel phantom vibrations still but I've gotten better at knowing when they are real and when they are phantom. LOL

I'll link the page here... https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct...%20is%20not.&usg=AOvVaw1YklcU0XNGem9k7q3SgnNu

I feel a vibration or pulse on my left leg occasionally and reach down for my phone when it isn't there, I've done it for years. 😅
