Why do I keep getting the message insufficient space when I have space available?

i have 800 mb free on my phone and even when i try to download the tiniest games, it says "insufficient space on the device"

Because the phone needs that space for its own use. Move your music, pictures and videos to an SD card.

(If the phone is old enough, it may be time to replace it. Apps get larger because more features are added and some developers shouldn't be developing apps [they drag things to huge templates, thinking they're developing apps, and take 200MB to do what could be written in 5MB], we want more functions so we install more apps, and a 2013 phone just isn't large enough for mid-2015.)

I know that feeling.

Rukbat is right. Scaling, sounds etc. Are a huge problem, in terms of filesize etc. I've heard quite a few developers have released apps that were 100x larger than they should have been.

Just out of interest AC Question. Which phone are you using, at the moment?
