Why do my apps restart when I switch between them?

I just got a LG stylo 4 and i find it very annoying that every time i have apps open and i switch between them they reload. I had a stylo 3 before and it did not do this.

Welcome to Android Central! Just to be sure -- you're using the Recent Apps/Overview button to switch between apps? When you leave one app, do you use the Back button to completely exit out of it, or do you just tap the Home button or Overview button to go to a different app?

Also, do you have any power-saver modes or 3rd party "RAM booster" apps installed?
