Why do my photos get deleted when I rename the folder they're in?

I'm organising my pictures right now, and all of a sudden they're being deleted? I have them in specific folders and tried to rename them, but instead of renaming the folder it deletes all the pictures in there for some reason? I don't get it because it never did that before. I had important pictures and I lost them. Legit there's nothing more to it than pictures being deleted after trying to rename the folders they're in. HELP?????

Are they truly deleted, or just not visible to your gallery app? Which gallery app are you using, by the way?

Try installing something like this one https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...etails?id=com.alensw.PicFolder&token=OpVv-0eP and see if it can find *all* of your images.

Or, if you have access to a PC, try connecting via USB cable and see if you can browse the folders on your phone.
