Why do some of my icons have an orange dot with two circles?

When I go to my settings, then to my app permissions it appears some of the apps have been downloaded twice or at least my phones showing the icon for it twice. I was wondering why?
Also the icons that seem to have duplicates have an orange dot on them with two circles? What does that mean?

Welcome to Android Central! Do you see duplicates in the App Drawer as well? Or in the Settings>Apps menu?

Are these all apps you've actually installed yourself from the Play Store, or are they system apps?

Welcome to the forums. That sounds like Parallel Apps. Some phones include a feature where you can set two different accounts for the same app and the orange dot differentiates the second one. Which phone do you have?
