Android Central Question

I have a Samsung galaxy a5 2017 model and with many apps such as Instagram, messages and several other games and apps the notifications cause my phone to vibrate however the icons appear for a brief second then disappear again meaning I don't know when I've gotten a notification. Can anyone help me sort out this issue

Welcome to Android Central! Are your notifications also showing up on another device with those same apps (like a tablet)?

The only other device I own is my previous phone which was a Samsung galaxy a5 2015 edition and I had no problems with notifications whatsoever

Is that previous phone still active, and are you still using it as a wi-fi only device? If you have the same apps and are clearing those notifications on that older phone, then that may also clear them from the newer phone.

I purchased a Frontier LTE watch because I could never catch the vibration from the notifications on the phone.

It works however it is never really turned on and the apps such as Instagram or Snapchat r still on that device however the accounts r logged out

Ok, so try booting into Safe Mode and seeing if it still happens with things like text messages.

I've just done this and the text message actually appeared. It said to delete a third party app that could be causing this which i did however when i came off safe mode it was the same and changed nothing

You might have to uninstall apps one by one until the problem goes away. It can be hard to figure out which app you installed that might be causing the problem except by this kind of trial and error.

Hi just deleted my apps and have discovered which one was the cause. Thanks so much for all of ur help would've been lost without it.

I get alot of phantom vibrations on my Frontier LTE that don't show up either on my watch or phone notifications. A minor bug that I easily overlook.

Maybe these vibrations are caused by people trying to befriend me on Facebook. I have over 80 pending. I don't have the application on my Note 8 but I inadvertently registered as a user when I loaded a different app.

Great! Can you tell us which app was the culprit? It might help someone else looking at this thread.
