Hi

Why do you not respect the settings of a browser/mobile device?

E.g on my phone and in my browser I have said that I do not want to see ads, why do you not respect that?

The website is bloated with ads and it looks like the site is more interested in showing ads than giving the user a good experience

Welcome to Android Central! Sites like this don't work for free. Like many other sites, ad revenue is important to help keep things going. Unless you'd prefer sites like this to have a paywall.

I agree that some of the ads can be pretty annoying (especially the ones that suddenly shift everything around to accommodate a sidebar ad, or some video). But I really don't agree the site is "bloated with ads." Can you give us an example of another forum site that doesn't have any ads?

Remember that the ads on the right side can easily be minimized. Look for the X in a black square, and click it.

Plenty of other sites to choose from. Let us know which ones you find to be better.

Please excuse any typos or autocorrect derps.

Like any other site, it needs ad revenue to function.

I would recommend using the official app or an alternative like Tapatalk if this is a bother. As far as the choice, there can be a number of things happening here, depending on your configuration. If you are using an app or a setting in a mobile browser, in many cases that setting is not passed to the site you are trying to view - meaning that Android Central may never know you do not wish to view ads. Most apps that restrict ads do so client-side which would mean that any ads that make it through are clearly not on the filter criteria for that app. If you are using a service like ad-block on mobile, this is most likely the case: the site sends all relevant data to the browser, the browser then parses it and shows you what it lets through. As indicated above, advertising is a large part of how the internet works and funds content that is otherwise free to the user - and as much as sites try to make the ads as unobtrusive as possible, they do in fact exist. Other options that exist aside from using an app would be to view the site in desktop mode, which pushes all ads to the right side and gives you the "x" mentioned earlier that minimizes them to get them out of your way.

I've just written a piece b4 seeing yours. There's ads hiding as articles. Nothing sponsored by an odex can be unbiased. I said there is bills to pay but this site seems out to get every last cent it can. There's way more ads than simmler sites, like xda. The way "the owners" creep into replies disturbed me too. They should never come up! Seems to be a total lack of independence. Just my opinion
