Why do you prefer the Android OS over iOS?

Don't see the big deal with the Sammy apps, just choose the one you like the best and use it....whoopdi-dool. No one company has a stranglehold on a certain type app, who the heck would want that? Let 'em compete and pick the winner yourself. I just don't get the hate here, I get it, chocolate only served here...strawberry lovers take a hike.

I don't hate Apple or Samsung. I won't do business with Apple because of the anal-retentive drive to control. I understand Samsung has improved immeasurably since the days of incredible bloat but a $1400 phone is not in my future. My fantasy phone would probably be Samsung hardware paired with stock Google Android.

Now THAT is a phone I could get behind!

Android is an open-sourced platform so people can take that source code and create custom operating systems from it like CyanogenMod etc. Ios is closed source you can't really make custom os changes from it. Talking about the performance and day to day use, both have their respective sweet spot where android takes a huge lead in terms of customization options like skins, widgets and probably the most powerful tool “Root” whereas in Ios there are no widgets and especially no root , You have jailbreak which is different but still hands down android is way more customised and tweaking friendly, if we take this as a benchmark.

Next, performance and yes this is an area which gets interesting. From what i have observed games on Ios tend to load faster and makes the performance snappy when compared to Android. Taking about basic browsing and an absence of app drawer in Ios, apps are easily discoverable but you can do that in android too \U0001f923 I didn't find any particular winner when trying out social apps like Facebook, Twitter etc they are equally optimised.

So if you are that one kind of person who is not into arranging stuff and changing looks a bit ,trying out launchers and themes ,Ios is suitable for you, quite easy to understand and gets job done right away.

I didn't. I use both. There are some restrictions in Android which simply make it impossible to have only an Android for me (for instance, that crap "feature" which prevent video files bigger than 4GB... What? What's the point in having a 8K capable device with this c***t limitation???)

So, for me, I'll carry both for time being.
