Why do you want the G-Note?

Just want to take notes. All the previous restive PDA type of gadgets didn't cut it for me. This one seems to work pretty good. Also, since the phone is supposedly good (I have one but haven't field tested it enough), I' use it as a phone. Why not? :D the other stuff....who knows.

- I Own the Galaxy Note so here's why I LOVE IT...
- The Screen is bigger in my hand (now that I have it) than I could have imagined.
- The Resolution on this Beast is Amazing. (I know cuzz I've owned an iPhone4.) The included free demonstration video truly shows the quality of the Blacks, Blues, Green, Reds, etc. You'll see when you get it. Buy the Christmas HD Live wallpaper for this especially. I did, and it looks... well, when I show it to people that ALWAYS say, "I want one!"
- No need to spend $$ on extra apps. It Comes with FREE Software. Edit Photo's, Videos, & Notes. It is Ready out of the Box!" I am looking forward to using this to take uploaded friends pictures from Facebook and reuploading them Edited.
- People always say WOW, what is that!
- Loudspeaker is Louder than I would have imagined
- Sound on Loud Speaker is of quality build. (trust me, I am VERY picky)
- Speaker on ear (for calls) can be set to really loud
- Speaker on ear (for calls) is truly clearer than an (I gave-up with you) iPhone
- Lighter than my co-workers new HTC with a smaller screen
- Thinner than I could have imagined
- Will not feel bulky in pants (Dockers, Formal NOT jeans) front pocket
- Help me, I love this phone a little too much.

If you guys are trying to decide between anything and a G-Note, get the Note

ive had it now for 2 weeks and i can truly say it is amazing, even my chinese gf with small hands wants one now. It makes my old Xperia Arc 4.2 inch screen feel like a 3 inch screen.

Its so fast, easy to read, its not THAT big, its big, but just perfect. My hands are on the larger size and i can text with 1 hand but 2 is easlier.

There is NOTHING about this thing not to love, it just makes any other phone feel like a joke after. I will never again own a phone smaller then 5 inches. Its just not possible to go back.

i think ive dreamt about this phone every night in the past 2 weeks ---> an indication of how much i love the thing.

and GPS on this is 100x better then anything i have ever used. The first time i powered it on in the store with no internet it got a lock in 3 seconds. I was just absolutely blown away.

Its accuracy is also above any device i have ever used.

the camera also is fantastic, its finally of ( point and shoot quality)

i dont know what else to say except this phone is amazing.

me too I have rooted the hell out of it and well playing around with some roms and kernels :p the screen is just outstanding, is brighter than the G Nexus which I had a chance to play with, and a lot better performance.

I finally played with a GNex in Verizon and am so glad that I have the GNote. GNote feels more solid and so much more usable screen. Soft keys take up useful screen on GNex. Plus so great that it has a battery that normally makes it through a day. ...barely for me, but no other standard devie battery will. Hope we see some overcapacity batteries in original size soon.

Just received mine yesterday. Have charged it and played with it a bit but not much due to getting ready for Christmas for the kids. They are resting now before the inlaws come over :)

Will be later tonight before I get to set it up etc. I did pop my att sim into it and set the APN to test the phone and data and it worked fine. On wifi only right now. It did update to 2.3.6 once I set up wifi.

Cannot wait to put it thorough the paces. First thought is WOW this is excellent! The screen is amazing! The pictures and video on it really show off the screen resolution! I like the setup and may not go with launcher pro on this due to extra screen real estate and 5 icons across. Was looking over the tips thread on XDA and this is really an amazing device! Was also pleased not to have the usual att bloatware all over!

Not sure why I wanted it other than the HD screen! Still not sure how I am going to integrate with my Skyrocket. I am looking forward to learning more and contributing to this thread going forward!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope Santa was good to you!

Getting this will replace my Playbook and now antiquated MT4G. I envy those of you that have this already. As much as I want this, I can't swallow switching to AT&T.

Mostly the same reasons everyone has for getti.g this awesome phone. Screen size and resolution. I read a lot on my spare time but don't have the hesrt to carry my ipad everywhere I go. With my note it's perfect to pull out on train/plane rides. Great battery life, speedy performance and no carrier bloatware made my decision to import a note an easy one. I love this phone and will continue to love it until the next iteration comes out next year lol.

I'm on the verge of ordering it from a local importer, but was nearly tempted by the GNex. Ultimately the GNote won the debate, as it is the one that captured my imagination. When the original iPhone came out, I had this vision that it would usher in an age where phones could really replace computers -- but the GNote is the first phone that I realy feel could do it for me. I will probably be carrying around one of those mini bluetooth keyboards, so I can make use of the whole screen to get things done.

I love having seen the videos of what people have done with it -- such as basically docking it as a computer, RDP sessions, connecting various USB devices, and with its Linux base, it can be made to sync files over SSH and so on.

edit: ordered!

I acquired my N7000 a week ago, and would not want to miss it for one day.

You will love the huge AMOLED screen, it allows you to read ebooks and magazines for hours without getting a headache. Also editing pictures is a lot of fun, as the device comes equipped with a 8MP camera and there are a couple of nice photo editing apps on the market.

The stylus took me a while to get used to, but once you are there, you will be able to enjoy a combination of typical touchscreen features and literally handwritten notes, e.g. editing Google map parts and sharing them etc etc.

:) Hope you will enjoy the device as much as I do - personally, I have not come across any other mobile phone that has such an amazing overall performance.

soon enough the phones will reach 7" and that will be awesome! :)
Well it depends upon the need of an individual primarily.

Though i am using Galaxy Note but i don't see any convincing reason that we MUST buy this phone. May be i was over excited to buy this phone :(

Well, i was using Nokia N8 which is far better than Note and N8 can do everything that Note does except the stylus(Pen).

With all respects,
I am happy you are such a fan of Nokia phones, but ... what you said is just not true.

Here is the link to an article where these two phones have been compared:
Samsung Galaxy Note vs. Nokia N8

If you do not need a 1.4GHz processor to be able to play Facebook-integrated or any other high-resolution games without any frustrating lags .. well, that is your choice.

But by no means ;) can you say that the N8 can do everything the Galaxy Note does. And, it is not just about the stylus ... think of the Android market vs. Symbian market, and that is only for a start.

I want it so I can watch Netflix on the go... The bigger the screen, the better the viewing experience will be...

To read on the go.
To play games.
To watch movies in HD.
To keep notes at work and in general.
To DRAW! To be able to put pen to simulated paper and sketch my brains out...

I've longed for something with a stylus ever since my old palmtop died. I've not been into smartphones because nothing about them really excited me. The touchscreens worried me cos I can be clumsy. And I never saw the need anyway for a "phone" with a touch screen.

The Note totally took my breath away. It's so much much more than a phone. It's my entertainment centre and notebook rolled in one.

And I've had one for 2 months now.
