Why does Daily Mail App burn through 6GB per month and what can I do about it?

[Android Central Question]

Title pretty much says it all. I moved from a Galaxy Avant to an A20 and all of a sudded my Daily Mail app is burning through a tremendous amount of 4G data (at least 6GB/month) even though I use WiFi at home.
Does anyone have any idea what might be wrong? I have checked the phone and app settings any number of times and I don't see what might be wrong.

Possible the mail is being saved to the phone instead of the cloud . @B. Diddy opinion on this .

Welcome to Android Central! Does the app show you a lot of ads? Perhaps it's been ramping up the number of video ads it shows.

Try wiping the app cache/data in Settings>Apps​.
