Why does Google+ use so much data?

wow there is something wrong. try to clear data/cache G+ and login again. see if that fixes it

It could be syncing your photos to your phone or you just have a lot of friends who put up pictures that take up bandwidth

Thanks guys, i cleared my cache and set instant upload to upload over wifi only, that should help. I will continue to monitor it though, that and streaming google music (1GB) this past month.

Yeah, that definitely looks like it was Instant Upload usage. My Google+ usage for the past month shows 250MB, and I have Instant Upload and syncing set unrestricted. I've been taking a lot of pictures and video lately.
