Why does my 128Gb phone only have 4.2GB?

Hi I just bought a A90 running Android 10 with 128GB +8GB off wish and had trouble loading apps due to insufficient storage. When I look at Storage in Settings it says I have used 4.13Gb of 128GB. I hooked it up to my laptop and explorer said there was ~500Mb left of my 128GB even though when I went through explorer there were was nowhere near 127GB on there (I have not loaded anything on there yet except some apps). Following some of your earlier threads I downloaded Data Size Explorer and DiskUsage and both came up with only 4.2GB of internal storage which was almost full. Why can't I access the full 128Gb? Has the disk been partitioned or something? How can I correct this?

You sure you didn't invert what Diskusage said?
Try loading a couple gb from Explorer and see what does.

I have bought a phone off wish before. Basically it won't be a 128GB phone at all. Even if it says there is 128GB it is likely only a 4 or 8GB storage in reality. Most phones bought off wish are fakes or clones.

There is a guy called Smoorez on YOUTUBE who buys clones and tears them down to show you how bad clone phones are.

In the end Wish refunded me for the phone I had bought without even asking for the fake one back. I think they are used to complaints. That guy on YouTube uses certain software to display the true hardware in these phones. It really is worth seeing the videos and looking to see what you really bought. Then contact Wish and ask for a refund.

Aha! I totally missed that it was from Wish. It's almost certainly a fake then, as Kirstein Gourlay mentioned.

Good catch

Bought this off Wish, just bought based on specs not a brand, then realised that the A90 was a Samsung model... Screenshot_20200502-103151.png

Thanks everyone. I wasn't expecting a brand phone but I thought the specs would be right... First and last purchase from Wish... I had already got a refund from Wish as it was supposed to be 256Gb phone with a 4500mAh but the battery was 1000mAh but I thought it was 128Gb. Anyway, got a phone that is worth what I paid ($0) I suppose

Welcome to AC forum!

Glad you got the help here . Good lesson on wish

Ran his software and it was very interesting. Not one of the specs was right.... In fact worse than my old phone. Wish were very quick in refunding my money.
