Why does my Android phone say connecting to wifi and changes to saved, secured?

Please help. Android phone says connecting to wifi and changes to saved, secured

My LG l90 won't work with my school's wifi. It says connecting then 'saved, secured'.

Welcome to Android Central! Does your school wi-fi require a login to be entered on a separate login screen? Or is there a wi-fi password associated with the network itself? Do you know if you have to enter a proxy?

Same is happening with my Note4 at work, it has no problems with my home network (so far) just work network. My work network has a password, don't know about the proxy. This has started since the OS upgrade.
