Android Central Question
4 days ago problems started when my Zenfone 4 (x001D) could not be taken out of sleep mode requiring a soft reset (power button). Up until today, I managed to keep the phone functional by deselecting sleep mode and screen lock but still having to do about 5 resets per day because it either powered off or display went dark (completely black and still on since led light flickered but unable to wake). I did do a factory reset 3 days ago to see if that would resolve matters but it didn't. The Accubattery app indicates no problems with the battery overheating. The problem has gotten progressively worse with it now powering off completely and I am unable to get it to successfully boot up. It loads to the home screen and then freezes and powers off ... it doesn't even get to the point of recognizing the sim card or wifi.
Despite showing full charge could this problem be due to the battery as some sites indicate? It is almost 3 years old.
