AC Question

When I'm attaching a picture during a text message it sends automatically. My Note 4 just started doing this. Why? How can I change this?

Welcome to Android Central! I'm not sure if this was a recent change, but this appears to be the convention now. If you want to have text associated with the photo, it's best to type the text message, then tap the attachment icon, select the photo, then send. Don't attach the photo first, because then it will send without being able to type a message with it.

On the Galaxy Note 5, it doesn't matter if you try to attach a picture to the message, or take the picture first and then try to type the message after that...either way, it sends the picture separately from the text. If this is some new way Samsung has designed the software...I am not happy with it.

I have the Galaxy Note 5 and read lots of posts and found the solution here on this site. I followed the directions and now it works fine. Here is what I did:

1. Go to Settings - go to Mobile Networks-Network Modes-I had 4 options - LTE/3G/2G(auto connect), 3G/2G, 3G and 2G. It was connected to the first one, I hit 3G/2G, tried the texting and attachment in a few new messages and problem solved. Hope this helps.

Welcome to Android Central! Thanks for that tip, but the problem is that most people will want to maintain their LTE connection (since 3G speeds are usually pretty slow). It does raise the question of why enabling LTE would cause this behavior in the first place, though.
