why does my boyfriend get mt text in Chinese writing?

I got the galaxy s 4 about a month and a half ago and randomly when I send my boyfriend a text he gets it in Chinese writing does anyone know why this happens and how I can fix it, on my side it's in English

just at random times he'll get it in Chinese or whatever that language is. and no he's using a his regular text messaging I use to have the htc one s and it never did that until I got the s 4

The other day I saw a post like these, try downloading a antivirus from play store and scan your s4.
On the other post I saw the other day he resolve his problem by this way

Try avg on the market and lookout. Scan it twice. Also u can both try to use a 3rd party sms app like textra.

I don't think it's on his end he's has the phone for a while and it started happening when I got the s4

I do not know anything about how the characters in text messages are normally encoded when sent, but it looks like the text was sent encoded as UTF-16 big endian and was interpreted by the receiving phone as UTF-16 little endian (or vice versa). If that was the case, then the actual message was something like "
mm babe me too ! we need some cuddling time it's been to long". Maybe someone else who understands the character encodings used in text messages can comment on how this might happen.
