Display goes blank during call

Hey guys, I have a serious problem. The Nnexus 6p which I bought 3 days ago has an issue where the Display just goes blank when I get/make a call...probably an issue with the proximity sensor.Currently I am not sure whether this is Hardware or a software problem. I did google this and found an earlier issue that this can be caused due to a screen protector and removing it will resolve he issue. However, I just want to ask ppl if there is any other alternative before I go around uprooting my screen guard. Please help ASAP.

Re: Display goes blank during call

Take off the screen protector. If you must have one, buy one that specifically has a cutout for the proximity sensor.

Re: Display goes blank during call

remove the protector, and get one that has a cutout for the proximity sensor.
It will work normally then.

Get rid of the screen protector, you don't really need it anyway.

The proximity sensors are just below the right hand side of the top (ear) speaker - you can see them in just the right light. They need to be completely unobstructed. Any newer screen protector will have these cutouts, but lots of the screen protector manufacturers jumped the gun and sold defective ones anyway.

Way I see it you have 4 options...
1. contact the manufacturer of the screen protector and ask for a replacement with the proper cutouts
2. try to lift the edge of your screen protector and try to cut a notch out for the sensor
3. remove your screen protector and go without
4. replace the screen protector with something like this one... http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015X0N9EA?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00

I have that screen protector in the link and it works great... you apply it the same way as a zagg
