Why does my galaxy s7 ringtone default to silent?

I can change my ringtone for calls,, go back to the home screen, call my phone and it will ring that ring tone but if i leave the phone on the counter overnight the ringtone will default to silent and i won't be able to receive calls.

Does it do that in safe mode? Sounds like an app that has permissions to mute.

I am also dealing with this issue for past week. There's gotta be a glitch somewhere. I too have S7 Edge. Ringtone defaulting to silent.
