Why does my HTC One M9 camera app always crash?

HTC One M9 camera app always crashes

Hi, just the m9 today and the camera app will not open. I get the unexpected crash message and the phone crashes the app back to the home screen. tried doing the software update via my carrier and it didnt solve. tried clearing the camera app data and restarting in safe mode but didnt solve. tried factory reset but exactly the same problem.

any other tips or ideas?

Welcome to Android Central! If it's crashing in Safe Mode, then there's probably a significant problem either with the hardware or firmware. Bring it back to the store for an exchange.

Did you by chance put a micro sd in before opening the camera app?

Try having your phone held horizontal when you start it. If that works, it might be caused by a rotate app like ultimate rotate pro. In that case, set the per-app setting for camera to auto landscape

I used to have the m9 I returned the same day it was crap all the reasons you had and overheating
