Why does my internal memory keep disappearing?

On it's own, even in airplane mode. I have an LG L70, I had a Galaxy S3 Mini before. I have had this exact same issue on both phones. Internal memory disappears, literally. Phone at the moment says that I have 0.93Gb apps, not more than 10Mb of media and documents, I keep that stuff on External SD. Total internal storage is 1.5GB where could the remaining 0.4Gb be? I did multiple factory resets/system formats, this solves the issue but in 1-2 days memory starts disappearing again.

For example, I am browsing 9gag, it says that I ran out of storage so I clear the cache. I get 40Mb of free space. I keep browsing and I run out of storage again, I clear the cache and I get 34Mb of free space.

Other example. When I go to sleep I have 34Mb of free space. Phone is in airplane mode during the night and off the wi-fi. when I wake up I have only 30Mb.

Before you start bombing me with answers like "clear the cache" "delete apps" I will tell you that this happens even when I have only the factory apps plus Zedge, Chrome, Facebook and messenger, 9Gag, Plague Inc., STEAM, VLC, Swift Key and Tiny Flashlight, Smart Launcher. I tried without these apps, none of them is causing the problem their cache is clear or does not take more than few Mb.It's not my text messages because I barely text and I don't get MMS messages. My S3 was rooted, without custom OES (or what were those called). S3 had whole different apps and a lot more than my L70. Screen of the S3 is dead by now, just saying so you won't ask me to do something with it. I will format my L70 tomorrow and I will only install 9gag app and wait few days, then I will post an update.

Note: I am posting here because browsing the net or reading other threads did not help, but maybe I missed something.

Any questions or required info?

Thanks for your time and I hope we can solve this mystery.

Update:

Since I had no idea how to post a reply I am posting my reply here. Your answer could have solved my S3 problem, where I did have photo syncing. I talked about clearing all the applications' caches one by one. I will try to turn off the search history, I am not using google that much though. Yesterday (the day I posted) I deleted all my apps except for the ones I intended to reinstall, to see the difference. With only factory apps + 9gag, Smart Launcher, Swift Key I had 152Mb free. After factory reset, with the same 3 apps installed now I have 652Mb free space. Thanks for the answer.

Welcome to Android Central! Offhand, I'd suspect that the system itself is caching information on an ongoing basis, which is normally not an issue with devices that have more storage, but which can obviously be a big issue if you're constantly running low. Try turning off various system functions like Location History and Google Search History. Do you know if your Gallery is syncing with Picasa/Google+ Photos? If so, turn that sync off, since it might be causing the system to store a bunch of thumbnails (which can build up easily). Review this guide for more tips on maximizing available storage: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...roid-memory-how-deal-low-memory-warnings.html

When you mention clearing the cache, are you talking about all app caches, or only the browser cache?

My space on my samsung galaxy tab 3's is dissapearing. An example of that is, I was trying to download an app but I had insufficient storage space so I deleted two apps and then tried to download the app but I still didn't have enough space so I tried to re download the apps I deleted but there was no space! Why is this happening??
