Why does my lg 3g keep asking for my city, state or zip each time I open it

Since I did the last update, every time I use my phone it asks for city, state or zip before I can use it. I went into verizon and they basically said tough luck...if you don't leave location on, it will do that for ever. Driving me crazy.

If I have Location off on my unlocked D855-EUR, that does not happen. I wonder whether it's something to do with your carrier. I'll ask around a bit.

This sounds like you have a weather widget or something trying to get information on your location.. And if you have auto location off that would make sense.

Yeah... I second the 'check your widgets' thing. If the weather widget is set to follow your location, it might prompt for that.... crappy app design if it does, but it might happen.

Can you specify a location in the settings? If it won't stick, I would just remove the app/widget

I can't find an app that is looking for the location. I tried to set the location in settings and it isn't an option. I believe it's some type of weather app, but I can find it because I didn't download it.

Might be the stock LG weather app. Are you using the stock launcher? If not, switch to it, then go into the settings and find the weather bits and check those.
