Why does my Mini jack only output the left channel even after replacing headphone assembly?

Mini jack only outputs left channel even after replacing headphone assembly

So a little while ago my S3 started only giving audio on the left channel with a headset plugged in. After some quick googling, I bought a replacement jack/headphone/speaker assembly from eBay. Now that's installed, but the problem persists! Any suggestions? The sound is not set to mono.

Welcome to Android Central! Does that happen with any headphone, or just that one? Does that headphone work normally on other devices?
