Mobile Hotspot Turns itself off - HTC One M7

I have the original M7 by HTC. My mobile hotspot used to work very well, brilliantly in fact. Ever since updating to Lollipop (5.0.2) I have been unable to keep my hotspot on consistently. Even now, as I am writing this, the hotspot has been turned off by itself (disconnects me from the internet) and I have to turn my phone back on, and switch the hotspot back on.

Is anyone else having this issue with the same phone? Is it a setting somewhere I am missing, or do you think it's a bug within lollipop? Is there any other way to get to use the data I pay for as internet through my phone? I have tried doing a hard tether, but I can't find an option to use it as internet (only data transfer.)

So far I have tried mobile hotspot>advanced settings>power mode>always on
as well as wifi settings>advanced>auto-switch to mobile network>on

Any help is appreciated, thank you.

I found in another posting that was similar that I had my wifi settings set to "Connect to ATT wifi where available" and it was conflicting with my mobile hotspot. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

Okay, so after disabling that feature it worked for several hours and then went right back to disconnecting me on its own again and again.

I have tried so may settings now that I am convinced that maybe i should just bring the phone to the ATT store or Best Buy to see if they can help, because my partner has no issues with her mobile hotspot on her Galaxy S4

The mobile hotspot on my Samsung Galaxy defaults to a timeout of 10 minutes. To change this, go into the Hotspot settings where it lists connected devices. Click the phone's button that brings up the menu. Here, you should see "Timeout Settings". Here, you can set it to "Never timeout".
