Why does my Moto x camera come on while just sitting there?

Moto x Camera comes on while just sitting there

My Moto x camera will just auto start while just sitting there with no movement at all. I have cleared the cache rebooted phone etc.. Any ideas are welcome...

Are you referring to the quick capture feature? You say it starts without movement and the quick capture requires a flick of the wrist, so I'm 100% sure that may be what's happening.

Which Moto X do you have (2013/2014?) and is there anything installed that would conflict with apps/camera?

No the phone can just be sitting on the table and the camera starts. It does not take a picture or anything it just comes on. Or when i sleep i get up open phone and camera is on ready to take pictures..

Oh 2013 model..

No i have not installed any new apps sense this started a week ago.

If the Quick Capture feature is enabled, you could try disabling it to see if that helps.

Maybe you've got a faulty sensor that's sending erroneous motion signals to the camera app.
