Music streaming stutters / breaks for a millisecond periodically
I stream music from Rhapsody on my phone. The music will periodically stutter just for an instant but will continue to play. I have tried to reduce the streaming quality to the lowest bitrate but it continues to occur. Some other troubleshooting has led me to discount these potential sources of the issue:
- battery level: issue happens even on a fully charged or plugged in phone
- WiFi signal level / internet speed: not a connection speed/buffering issue
- Screen timeout: doesn't seem to affect it
- Running apps: have restarted the phone and stopped unnecessary apps from running but no improvement
- Bluetooth: not related to BT as it also occurs with headphones connected
-Stuttering does not occur at a consistent interval. Sometimes the breaks will occur 10 seconds apart and then other times it will be a few minutes between occurrences. Its not related to receiving texts, calls, or emails.
My phone: Galaxy S4 on Verizon running Android 5.0.1
I've performed searches for solutions but with no luck. If anyone has experienced this and has a fix, it would be greatly appreciated. Its probably something straightforward that I've just overlooked or is well known in the Android community. Thanks much
