Why does my phone restart when I take a pic or try to record a video?

Really big annoying problem with the camera. please help

Hi,

Almost every time that I'm trying to record a video \ take a photo with my G3, it automaticlly restarts.
Does anyone have a solution for me ? It is really annoying.

By restart.. .do you mean the phone reboots? If so... has anything changed recently or has the problem persisted for as long as you've had the phone? What version/carrier?

It started when I updated to 5.0.1 I think.. about a month or two.

When you updated, did you do a factory reset?

I know that OTAs are supposed to be able to upgrade... but going from KK to LP was a MAJOR upgrade and plenty of people are having issues with their phones that can be resolved by a simple factory reset. Unlike apps like facebook or gmail.... your camera app interfaces directly with the hardware layer on the phone. If something comes in a bit sideways, it can cause a kernel panic and your phone could reset as a result.

First... go in and clear the app settings for the phone (Settings - Apps - All - Camera)... if that doesn't work, you might have to go full out and do a factory reset.

Awesome... Upgrading is an inexact science. There could always be some crappy data left over. And if that crappy data is in the wrong place, bad things happen.
