Why does my phone say that the output device is a Chromecast, when it's my phone?

Android Central Question

When I turn up/down the volume on my Samsung Galaxy A02S, it shows the picture for a Chromecast device instead of the note for phone audio underneath the volume level. I am sure the audio is coming out of my phones speaker. Before anyone says anything about restarting or updating, I have got the latest software and restarted my phone.

Hi,
This is the user that posted this question.
I am definitely not connected and, in fact, never used the Chromecast feature on my phone before. I am certain audio is coming from my phone as when I put my ear up to the speaker and play audio, it comes out from there.

I've had this happen a few times on my LG V60. The volume adjusts as it should, but it indicates I'm adjusting the Chromecast volume. It doesn't always happen and doesn't really bother me personally, so never looked into a fix.

Welcome to Android Central! Are you certain it's the Chromecast icon? On my Pixel 6 Pro, when the Volume slider appears, there's an icon under the slider for Live Caption that could conceivably be mistaken for Chromecast. If you see it again. show us a screenshot.
