Why does my phone screen have an orange hue

[Android Central Question]

I grabbed my phone from my pocket a little while ago and everything had an orange hue it almost looks like an old times photograph color (yellowish orange) I thought it was the night filter so I went to turn it off but it's already off.

Any ideas? It's not bothering me but I'd like to know why it happened.

Welcome to Android Central! Which phone? Is something like Night Light (on Pixels) set to turn on automatically at sunset (which typically turns the screen to a bit warmer hue to make it easier and more comfortable to look at in dim light)?
