Why does my playlist randomly shuffle itself without getting to the end?

Android Central Question

I've been having this trouble the entire time I've used the built in music player that has come with the phone. Whenever I am playing music, I usually have it set to shuffle, but not repeat the playlist. The idea behind this is that I'll hear all my songs in random order without them repeating at all.

Which is why I can not for the life of me figure out why I will hear a song multiple times during playback while not hearing others at all. The only thing that comes to mind is that any time I skip a song, the entire playlist reshuffles. There are some days that I will have heard a song three or four times in a sitting, while never hearing some of the other songs on the playlist. Why is this? What setting should I put on that takes this away? It is very frustrating. There are songs that I forget are even in my music player because they RARELY play, meanwhile, I can hear "22" by Taylor Swift five times in a three hour car ride. Please let me know what I can do to change this, otherwise I will be downloading an external media player.

Random is the opposite of "all". Random could even be 5 repeats of the same song. It can be any random order.

Learn what "random" means. It doesn't mean "all the songs in the playlist, but not in order", it means numbering each song, then generating a list of random numbers and playing the next number song. 2376253 is a random string. So is 12345. So is 33333.
