S5 full screen video hang or crash

Hey.
Noticed recently the following.
Open facebook via the fb-app. Go, for instance, to an unilad article with a videoclip. Click on the link and a new page opens with a video from youtube. Click the play button and the video starts and no problem. Click the full screen icon and turn the phone to the side and the video maximizes and fills the screen and stops almost immediately. Reset and clear cache for the apps involved and the video (and all other videos for that matter) runs for a minute or so then the phone hangs fully. Have to remove battery as phone is unresponsive. Any idea on how to look for the reason for this? Videos do not freeze if not maximized. Videos directly on youtube/vimeo does not freeze.
Phone Samsung S5, latest update, running videos on high capacity wi-fi only.
Appreciate any tips regarding this issue, thanks.

Do me a favor and go to SYSTEM SETTINGS, APPS, and swipe left to your running apps, at the bottom will show you how much of your device's available memory (RAM) is being used. Could you post those numbers for us?

Re: S5 full screen video hang or crash

Hi, I have the same problem, my S5 is G900A AT&T and recently update to 5.0 lollipop, I thinking about downgrade but first i search about any other fix, without luck yet.

Re: S5 full screen video hang or crash

If you don't find a solution to your problem, you don't have to downgrade. A lot of people have been having issues after upgrading to 5.0, but there have been a lot of success stories with the following procedure:

1. Back up all apps and files
2. Perform Factory Reset
3. Upgrade to 5.0
4. Restore apps and files

It seems that the upgrade installs better when applied from factory condition, and then restoring files. Not really sure why, but I have done extensive research on this issue and this has worked for nearly everyone that has tried it. If you do decide to try this, please come back and let us know how it goes. Good Luck!
