Why does my S5 keep coming up with 'unfortunately, Samsung Galaxy has stopped'?

My s5 keeps comin up with 'unfortunately, samsung galaxy has stopped'

My phone keeps coming up with 'unfortunately, samsung galaxy has stopped. ' doesn't matter what apps are open or what I'm doing on the phone. I've stopped all running apps but don't know what else to try.

You could try doing a factory reset. I'm pretty confident that would resolve the issue.

I have exactly the same issue and it only started happening over the last couple of days.

Has anyone got any ideas other than a factory reset?

I've started getting this too. Started yesterday. It's not an app that's stopped. Apparently, just samsung galaxy has stopped...........Haven't noticed an update, but doesn't mean it hasn't.........

If I were you I would contact Samsung support. I'm sure they're aware of the issue.

Has happened to me also, I think it began after I installed the latest security policy update that i received through push notification?

There's a new software update to download. Even if you have it for auto downloads of updates, it probably hasn't. You'll have to goto settings, about device, them check for updates. Should fix the issue......We will see....................

An update isn't available in the UK for my S5?

Done the above steps to check for update and nothing....

I am regularly getting this message and it is rather annoying!!

Save your data, and then do a Factory Reset.

something has corrupted the OS files in the phone.

Try this:

"- Go to settings, application manager
- Swipe left to go to all the apps
- scroll down to 'Samsung Galaxy'
- clear cache, then data
- reset the phone (hold button on right, then choose reset)"

Have you tried a battery pull? Remove the battery for a minute, reinsert it and turn it on. I would do that before a factory reset. If you do decide to do a factory reset make sure you back up any music, pics and such to Google Drive or any other app you use for back up.

Taking the battery out has worked for me, hopefully will continue. Keeping fingers crossed though.

I had to reflash to get rid of it. The notification pops up if I start an app and none of my apps worked .
