Why does my S6 think I'm in China, but I'm in the UK?

It all started when Google Now started sending cards to my phone about the weather in Kuala Lumpur in the Philippines. I have reset my Google password and cleared all the search history on my Google account. This seems to have fixed the Google problem.
Now, my weather app that comes with the phone now says I'm in China, but I've never left the UK. I cleared the Weather app's cache but that hasn't made a difference.

Does anyone have an idea? My last resort is to factory reset.
A reason why this happens would be nice.

Thanks!
Jack

Have you considered the possibility that you might be holding a teleportation device that transports you to china when you use it? If thats not it you could try going to Android Settings > Apps > Google Play Store and touch "Clear data" and "Clear cache". This should force it to recheck your location next time you open Play Store.

Are you sure you didn't just step into the Tardis? What year is it?

That's funny OP, because my phone thinks I'm in Russia and Google Now keeps giving me sight seeing advice and the exchange rate for £ to Russian Pesetas!

I think my phone has been hacked by a Russian hacker!

I've reported it to Google but they're not taking be seriously and haven't responded to my numerous emails.

I had a weather app which keeps saying I'm in Venezuela.. then flicking back to my current location..

I realise this thread has been out of action for a while but I stumbled across it while having the same issue with my OnePlus 2. When I'm at work, specifically, at my desk, my phone thinks I'm in China.

Turning on my wifi solved it for me. I didn't have to connect to a network but I guess the wifi aspect of location services uses nearby hotspots as a backup when GPS doesn't work.
